Bio

[FR] Antonio A. CASILLI est maître de conférences en Digital Humanities à Telecom ParisTech (Institut Mines Telecom) et chercheur en sociologie au Centre Edgar-Morin (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris). Il est l’auteur de Les liaisons numériques (Ed. du Seuil, 2010). Animateur du blog de recherche Bodyspacesociety et de la veille Twitter @bodyspacesoc, il est invité régulier sur Radio France Culture.

Recherches

Ses recherches portent principalement sur le corps, la santé et les usages informatiques. Il a mené plusieurs terrains d’enquête internationaux (notamment aux EU, en Chine et au Brésil). Depuis 2009, il coordonne plusieurs projets de recherche sur les réseaux sociaux en ligne, la santé et la vie privée. Il s’occupe aussi de méthodologies avancées de la recherche en sciences sociales, notamment de simulations multi-agents.

Publications

En plus de plusieurs publications scientifiques en français, anglais et italien, il est l’auteur de trois ouvrages. Les liaisons numériques (Seuil, Paris, 2010) est une étude sur la façon dont le Web reconfigure les formes de la sociabilité contemporaine. Stop Mobbing (DeriveApprodi, Rome, 2000; reprint 2001) est une analyse de la violence communicationnelle dans le capitalisme cognitif. Son premier livre, La Fabbrica Libertina (Manifesto Libri, Rome, 1997; 2e édition 2000), a été défini « une lecture cyborg-marxiste de l’oeuvre du Marquis de Sade ». Informations diverses :

Après une tesi di laurea en économie politique à l’Université Bocconi de Milan, il a obtenu un diplôme de master en conception multimédia et ensuite, un doctorat en sociologie à l’EHESS.
Antonio A. Casilli est membre du conseil de laboratoire de l’Institut Interdisciplinaire d’Anthropologie du Contemporain (UMR8177 EHESS/CNRS) et rapporteur pour plusieurs revues en France et au Royaume-Uni.
Il est membre de l’Association Française de Sociologie (AFS) et du Réseau International sur l’Analyse des Réseaux Sociaux (INSNA).
Il a coordonné un numéro spécial de la revue Communications consacré aux cultures du numérique (Seuil, mai 2011). Dans la revue Esprit, il a dirigé le dossier « Le corps à l’épreuve du numérique » (avril 2009).

[EN] Antonio A. Casilli is an associate professor of Digital Humanities at Telecom ParisTech (Paris Institute of Technology) and a researcher in sociology at the Edgar Morin Centre, School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS, Paris). Research

His main research foci are computer-mediated communication and health behaviours. He also deals with advanced ethno-computational methods and agent-based simulations for social science. Since 2009, he has been coordinating several international research projects focussing on social networks and online communities and privacy.

Les liaisons numériques (Seuil, Paris, 2010) is an investigation on how the Web reconfigures our social behavior. Stop Mobbing (DeriveApprodi, Rome, 2000; reprint 2001) is an inquiry into communicational violence in cognitive capitalism. The first, La Fabbrica Libertina (Manifesto Libri, Rome, 1997; 2nd edition 2000), has been described as « a marxist/cyborg reading of Marquis de Sade’s work ». Miscellanous facts:

Before obtaining a PhD in sociology at the EHESS (Paris), he was trained as a political economist at the Bocconi University (Milan). He also obtained a Master diploma in Multimedia authoring.
Antonio A. Casilli is a member of both the French Sociological Association (AFS) and the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA).
He sits in the Scientific Council of the Interdisciplinary Institut for Contemporary Anthropology (EHESS/CNRS) and regularly serves as a referee for scientific journals and scientific advisory boards in France and the UK.
He has edited a special issue of the journal Communications on computer cultures (Seuil, May 2011) and the mini-symposium « Le corps à l’épreuve du numérique » (April 2009) in the French journal Esprit.
